Background:

In 2006, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution 06-43, which established the Victim Services & Rape Crisis Center Advisory Council.  The Council identifies ways in which the Center can better meet the needs of Alachua County residents who experience a crime. The Florida Council Against Sexual Violence requires certified rape crisis centers that are part of a governmental organization have an advisory council that reflects the diversity of the community at large and the population served.
