Description:
Consideration of an Amended and Restated Interlocal Agreement between Alachua County and Gilchrist County extending the term of the agreement setting forth maintenance responsibilities.

The Board approve the Amended and Restated Interlocal Agreement between Alachua County and Gilchrist County, authorize the Chair to sign the Agreement and authorize county staff to record the Agreement in the Public Records of Alachua County, Florida.

Background:
Alachua County and Gilchrist County entered into an Interlocal Agreement dated January 5, 2009, regarding maintenance responsibilities for Countyline Road (the "Interlocal Agreement"). The Interlocal Agreement was recorded in the Public Records of Alachua County, Florida on March 4, 2009. The purpose of the Interlocal Agreement was for the Parties to have a mutual written agreement regarding maintenance for specific portions of common roads to ensure that redundant maintenance does not occur.

The term of the Interlocal Agreement was for a period of ten years after the Effective Date of the Interlocal Agreement. The Interlocal Agreement expired on January 4, 2019. Since Alachua County and Gilchrist County are still jointly maintaining Countyline Road, the Interlocal Agreement should be amended and restated to extend the term of the agreement.
