Background:

It is requested that the Resolution establishing the Alachua County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) be amended.  The Resolution for the AHAC had most recently been updated in 2008 and 2020; however, there was lack of specifications on the bylaws, election of officers, and quorum.  This new Resolution would include more specification on operation and reference to the Advisory Board and Committee Policy, as may be amended by the Board.

This proposed Resolution was reviewed and approved by the AHAC. At the AHAC public meeting it was requested that an additional responsibility be included for the Committee to review affordable housing property prioritizations and make recommendations to the Board. If approved, the following will be included as additional responsibility for the Committee (included as Section 4(9)):

To review, make recommendations, or to provide input to the Board of County Commissioners on residential affordable housing property acquisitions, projects, or prioritizations.

This Resolution does not change the membership of AHAC.
