Adopt the FY 2022-2023 Final Millage Rates and Final Budget

 

Recommended Action:

Recommended Action

Conduct public hearing and adopt the resolutions to approve the final FY 2022-2023 millage rates for the General County and MSTU-Law Enforcement budgets and adopt the FY 2022-2023 Final Budget.

Prior Board Motions:

On September 13, 2022, the Alachua Board of County Commissioners adopted the proposed FY 2022-2023 millage rates for the General County and MSTU-Law Enforcement and budgets and adopted the FY 2022-2023 Tentative Budget.

 

Fiscal Consideration:

Fiscal Consideration

                     County Millage Rate of 7.7662

                     MSTU Law Enforcement Millage Rate of 3.5678

                     General Fund budget including all revenues - $229,614,600. 

                     The total budget is $701,834,040

                     Adjustments made from September 13, 2022 Meeting to Fund 011 Fire Assessment reducing Tier 1 from $94.50 to $90.69 and Tier 2 from $8.55 to $8.31

Background:

 Citizens were notified of this public hearing through the Truth in Millage (TRIM) notification as determined by Florida Statute 200.065. 

TRIM notices were mailed by the Alachua County Property Appraiser on August 18, 2022.                                              

The first public hearing was held at the Board of County Commissioner’s Meeting on September 13, 2022, after 5:01 pm                                                                                   

This is the second of two required public hearings to adopt the Final General County and MSTU Law Enforcement and the FY23 Final Budget. 

Notification was placed on the Alachua County website as well as being advertised in the Gainesville Sun as required by Florida Statute 200.0655.
