Description:
If approved, Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC will conduct a comprehensive analysis of the Fire Rescue Department and will provide recommendations for reduced risk and liability, provide actionable plans to improve operational and administrative areas with noted deficiencies, and develop a best practices road map for the County to follow when implementing the recommended efficiency and effectiveness improvements.

The not-to-exceed cost for the audit is $268,400 which includes audit services and travel for on-site audit activities. These funds are budgeted within Special Expense.

Background:
The Board of County Commissioners heard an initial audit presentation in October 2018 and directed the County Manager to continue audit processes for other county departments and programs as identified.

An agreement was obtained through the State of Florida Contract #84111600-20-1 for Financial and Performance Audits. Pursuant to the State Contract, the County requested quotes from the state approved vendors and Mauldin & Jenkins LLC was the selected vendor after all quotes were received and reviewed.
