There is $29,775.22 available for the rescue unit equipment in the American Rescue Plan project funds (243.00-0064.525.64.00 #ARP) and $29,775.22 available for the rescue unit equipment in the FY2021-22 PEMT funding (001.54.5450.526.64.00 #FY21 6195410) for the purchase of the two (2) monitors for the additional rescue units.

Background:
The X Series is a full-featured monitor/defibrillator designed to be used with patients of all ages, its advanced monitoring and defibrillation capabilities extend to children and neonates. CPR Dashboard, SA02 functions and wireless data transfer to hospitals.
Zoll Medical is the sole manufacturer and source of X Series and X Series Advanced Defibrillators for the EMS Market. Zoll service, repairs and upgrades for the X-Series model defibrillators are only available through Zoll Medical.
The American Rescue Plan projects funded two (2) additional rescue units, Rescue 36 and Rescue 37. The FY2021-22 Public Emergency Medical Transportation Program (PEMT) funding funded one of the trucks and related equipment. This purchase will provide the monitor/defibrillator for the new units.
This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.3-302 (28) of the Alachua County Procurement Code, Sole Source procurements in accordance with the Procurement Procedures Manual. However, since the dollar amount of the purchase exceeds the purchasing authority of the Procurement Manager, this Purchase Order is being submitted for Board consideration and approval.
