Fiscal Consideration

The Age Based Fare Free Transit Pilot Service Agreement will require the County to pay a total of $115,000 to the City in quarterly payments for Fiscal Year 2023. This was included in the FY23 budget budget is available to cover this contract in Account: 008.79.7940.544.34.00.

Background:

The City of Gainesville and Alachua County are funding the Age Based Fare Free transit service on the Regional Transit Service System. The total cost of the service for FY23 is $230,000, with the City and County contributing equally. This service is available to those 18 and under and over 65.
