Receipt of Unanticipated Revenue to renovate the Budget Inn

Recommended Action:
Recommended Action
Approve receipt of the unanticipated revenue in the amount of $4,000,781.54 and the associated budget amendment; Authorize the County Manager to approve reports and other items in support of the former Budget Inn; Authorize staff to begin conversion. Authorize an interfund loan from General Fund of $2,000,000 for Grant Fund 202 and $800,000 for fund 206 to be repaid at the end of the grant, when reimbursement is received.

Background:
The State of Florida was allocated over $90 million by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the CDBG-CV program. Alachua County, like other units of local government participated in a competitive application process to receive CDBG -CV fundings. Programs funded through the CDBG-CV program must meet one of the three "national objectives" established by HUD: primarily benefiting low-to moderate income individuals, addressing slum or blight, or meeting an urgent need within a community.
