Background:

Rave Wireless is the proponent of Smart911, a private, public safety service provided to the citizens of Alachua County at no cost.

Smart911 allows an individual to create a personal profile from the Smart911 web link. The profile allows for the inclusion of medical conditions, prescription medicines, directions to the residence, hidden key location(s), emergency contacts, photographs, and more.

When an individual calls 911 from a telephone number listed in the Smart911 profile, the information contained within the profile is provided to the 911 Operator in the Combined Communications Center (CCC) for forty-five (45) minutes. There are currently 5,788 Alachua County citizens enrolled in Smart911.

On June 26, 2018, the Board approved the First amendment to the agreement between Rave Wireless and Alachua County for Smart911 services for five (5) years of service.

On July 12, 2013, the Board approved the Initial five (5) year agreement between Rave Wireless and Alachua County.
