Description:
The Board approved the project overall, but there is no funding specifically for this project in FY20, as this was an FY21 budget request. In order for Parks and Open Space to be able to spend a portion of this award in FY20, the Board must amend the CIP to include Camp McConnell and approve the budget amendment to move the budget to the accounts needed to commence the work.
We are also establishing 1 project with multiple subprojects. The entire project is under “Camp McConnell Renovations” and Parks will monitor and track the different components through the subprojects.

1. Approve the amended Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to include Camp McConnell;
2. Approve the budget amendment to move the budget to the required account lines and establish projects in order to track types of expenditures related to the restoration.

Prior Board Motions:
At the June 9, 2020 BoCC meeting, the Board approved $2.7 million in repairs and improvements at Camp McConnell. This restoration is to be funded from Parks’ allocation of Wild Spaces Public Places funding.

The Board approved a total of $2.7 million, from Parks’ allocation of Wild Spaces Public Places revenues. In FY20, Parks anticipates it will spend $520,864, which was not budgeted. The attached amendment moves the entire budget into place.

Background:
At the June 9, 2020 BoCC meeting, the Board approved $2.7 million in repairs and improvements at Camp McConnell. This restoration is to be funded from Parks’ allocation of Wild Spaces Public Places funding.
As this was an FY21 budget proposal, the FY20 budget is not prepared for Parks to begin this project. In order to get Parks and the budget ready, this agenda item moves the budget into the correct account lines and associates the budget with the new “Camp McConnell Renovations” project. It also amends the CIP in order to allow such expenditures, as Camp McConnell Restoration was not on any FY20 approved version.
