Background:
The City of Gainesville is responsible for the provision of fire rescue services within the City's corporate limits and Alachua County is responsible for the fire rescue services in the unincorporated areas of the County.
The City and County share a common boundary and have for the last 30 years had an Interlocal Agreement on the cross jurisdiction provision of Fire and EMS services to the residents in their respective jurisdictions and associated expense. If approved, the revised amount would be as follows:
Original Purchase Order $600,000.00
Change Order 1 $ 75,000.00
Revised Purchase Order Total $675,000.00
This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.3-302(3) of the Alachua County Procurement Code, all Supplies or Services, purchased from another unit of government. Additionally, the County and the City have a governing Interlocal Agreement. However, since the dollar amount exceeds the purchasing authority of the Procurement Manager, this item is being submitted for the Board’s consideration and approval.
