Presentation on Level of Service of Unimproved (graded/unpaved) County Roadways within the city limits of the County’s nine municipalities.

Prior Board Motions:
As per the Office of Budget and Management, the Board requested for Public Works to bring back a report on County maintained roadways and Level of Service in City limits during a special budget meeting. This item was also mentioned during Mr. James K. Harriott, Jr., P.E., Deputy County Manager, presentation to the Board regarding the proposed Agreement for Road Ownership, Transfer and Maintenance with the City of Newberry.

Background:
The Alachua County Public Works Department routinely grades approximately 162 miles of rural, unimproved roadways. This item presents the level of service for grading maintenance, specifically those roadways which are located either completely or partially (clipped) within a municipality boundary which totals approximately 9.7 centerline miles. Newberry, Alachua, Archer, Hawthorne, High Springs, Lacrosse & Micanopy have County unpaved roadways; Gainesville and Waldo do not.
