Background:
The CareerSource NCFL Board provides policy guidance for, and exercises oversight with respect to, activities under the WIOA* program in partnership with the units of general local government within its local workforce investment area. (*WIOA refers to the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act of 2014.)
Ms. Astengo’s CSNCFL Board Application and Nomination Letter have been provided as an attachment.
Ms. Astengo is the Director of Employment and Recruitment at UF Health Shands Hospital and meets the qualifications for the seat she has applied for as noted below.
Ms. Astengo satisfies Sections 8.7 and 9.1 of the Interlocal Agreement for CareerSource North Central Florida. She is the Director of Employment and Recruitment at UF Health Shands Hospital, a company that represents the industrial and demographic composition of the business community (8.7), serves with optimal decision making authority (9.1.(1)), represents a business that provides employment opportunities from a relevant industry sector (9.1.(2)), and has been nominated by the Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, a local business trade association (9.1.(3)).
