Description:

Appoint two (2) applicants to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC).

Recommended Action

Appoint two (2) citizens to serve on the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC), with terms ending June 30, 2023, to the following categories:

 

1. Jonathan Leftwich, Mortgage Lender with AnnieMac Home Mortgage in the "Actively engaged in the banking or mortgage industry in connection with affordable housing" position.

 

2.  R.D. Bonnaghan, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together North Central Florida in the "Actively engaged as a not-for-profit provider of affordable housing" position.

Background:

Recipients of State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) funds are mandated by State Statute 420.9076 to establish an Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee is responsible for reviewing the established policies and procedures, ordinances, and local housing assistance plan of Alachua County and to recommend specific actions or initiatives to encourage affordable housing.

 

The Committee is comprised of eleven (11) members and one (1) alternate position.
