Background:

This budget has been reviewed, discussed, and approved by the Finance Committee of CareerSource North Central Florida on June 11, 2019 and the Executive Committee of CareerSource North Central Florida on June 18, 2019. It was presented to representatives of both Alachua and Bradford County Commissions on June 27, 2019 at the Dual County Consortium.

The Federal and State of Florida Workforce Investment and Opportunity Acts (WIOA) requires the annual budget of the local workforce investment board (CareerSource North Central Florida) be presented to the chief elected official(s) for approval prior to the budget being submitted to CareerSource Florida.

WIOA is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy. WIOA increases the quality and accessibility of services that job seekers and employers receive at their local American Job Centers.  This system is based on a "One -Stop" service delivery concept that provides information about and access to a wide array of vocational and job training, education and employment services, and a variety of support services in a single, customer-focused, user-friendly service system that is available at the local level.
