Background:

The GRIT Foundation, Inc., is a local non-profit organization federally registered as  501C3, whose focus is to provide needed equipment for public safety agencies through private donations. Alachua County Fire Rescue is requesting the Board of County Commission’s support in entering into an affiliation agreement which permits the GRIT foundation to raise monies on behalf of Alachua County Fire Rescue. The agreement details the terms and conditions which permits the GRIT Foundation to be the primary fundraising entity. Alachua County Fire Rescue will be pursuing funding from GRIT for equipment, training for youth firefighters (Explorer Program), and employee recognition awards.
