Background:
The Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization has referred to the County, the City of Gainesville and the University of Florida a request to fund a County-wide Bicycle/Pedestrian Master Plan. The Plan would be coordinated by the MTPO and would seek to identify and prioritize bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure projects to be funded throughout the County. The Board has previously discussed the need to have a prioritization for its Bicycle/Pedestrian Work Program, and this presents an opportunity to identify and prioritize projects, while working collaboratively with the City of Gainesville, the University of Florida and other municipalities in the County.
