Funding ($58,830.00) exists in the ITS General Fund, Account  001-16-1600-519-46-00, Project - Storage Area Network (SAN) Annual Maintenance.

Background:

This is the annual maintenance that will enable us access to technical support, software upgrades, immediate hardware replacement in case of disruptive failure.   The data redundancy service provided by the SAN is also a key component of the disaster recovery and continuation of operation strategies for Alachua County.  The Storage Area Network (SAN) is the central storage for the vast majority of the computer systems used by BOCC agencies including web services, email system, files, etc.

 

This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.11(4) of the Alachua County Purchasing Code, Emergency purchases as provided in section 22.13.  However, since the dollar amount of the purchase exceeds the purchasing authority of the Procurement Manager, this Purchase Order is being submitted for Board consideration and approval.
