Description:

Consider the applications for two citizen-at-large vacancies and one citizen-at-large alternate vacancy on the Land Conservation Board.

 

Recommended Action:

Recommended Action

Appoint two citizen-at-large and one citizen-at-large alternate to the vacant Land Conservation Board positions with the following terms: Appoint two citizens-at-large to terms ending 12/31/2023, and appoint one citizen-at-large to a partial term ending 12/31/2020.

The Land Conservation Board was established in 2000 through Ordinance 00-13 and amended through Ordinance 01-23 and 01-25.

Background:

The Land Conservation board was created by the Board of County Commissioners in 2000. The eleven citizen (plus one alternate) Land Conservation Board recommends properties to the Board of County Commissioners for acquisition through the Alachua County Forever Program and makes recommendations on stewardship issues.
