Background:

The current makeup of the Committee includes the County Attorney. Being a voting committee member does not allow the County Attorney to act as staff and meet with the Risk Manager to discuss options and recommendations to the Committee on deferred compensation issues. The proposed ordinance removes the County Attorney from the membership of the Deferred Compensation Committee and eliminates a possible conflict of interest.

The proposed ordinance adds the Library, as it is joining the County’s deferred compensation plan and should be represented on the Committee.
