Accept the 2019-2020 EMS Trust grant award, approve the grant fund rollover of $79,029.75, approve the journal entry for fund distribution of the new grant award amount of $32,501.00, approve the budget amendment 2020-1920 for re-allocation of budget from capital to operating and sign the corresponding resolution.

Accepting the 2018-2019 EMS Trust Grant rollover will allow the County to retain $79,029.75 of unspent grant funds that will enhance the EMS services. The 2019-2020 EMS Trust grant award is $32,501.00 and both revenue and expenditures are budgeted in fund 014.54.5440.various. If approved, the EMS Trust fund will reflect a balance of $111,530.75

Background:
The Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services is authorized by Chapter 401, Part II, F.S., to dispense grant funds each year which are restricted and can only be spent to enhance emergency medical services and improve or expand pre-hospital EMS systems in Alachua County. The term of the FY2018/19 grant was from January 23, 2019 through January 31, 2020. A final report for the EMS Trust Fund Grant was prepared and accepted by the State. The amount of unspent funds is $79,029.75 and will be expended on the purchase of QA software, Pediatric/Child Restraints, and Airway/Critical Care training.
