Accepting the 2019-2020 EMS Trust Grant rollover will allow for the unspent grant funds in the amount of $50,756.24 to be applied towards expenses to enhance the EMS services in the current fiscal year. The 2020-2021 EMS Trust grant award is $31,811.00 and both revenue and expenditures will be posted in fund# 014. (014.54.5250.various.)

If approved, the EMS Trust fund will reflect a balance of $82,567.24.

Background:
The Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services is authorized by Chapter 401, Part II, F.S., to dispense grant funds each year which are restricted and can only be spent to enhance emergency medical services and improve or expand pre-hospital EMS systems in Alachua County. The term of the FY2019/20 grant was from December 26, 2020 through February 12, 2021. A final report for the EMS Trust Fund Grant was prepared and accepted by the State. The amount of unspent funds is $50,756.24 and will be expended on the purchase of Quality Assurance software, Pediatric/Child Restraints, Foxtrot Litters and Airway/Critical Care training.

The Alachua County grant application for the 2020-2021 EMS County Grant, ID Code C9001, was awarded December 3, 2020, in the amount of $31,811.00.
