Adopt the resolution creating three new grant programs: Mini Grant for Artists and Events, Major Grant for Artists, and Matching Grant Small Cities in Alachua County; and approve the application form for each grant program.

Not to exceed $2,000 for Mini Grants for Artists/Events (max $500); $7,000 for Major Grants for Artists (max $3,500) and $6,000 Matching Grants to Small Cities (max $3,000) funded through Art Tag Proceeds, Fund 118 and in accordance with ?320.08056 and ?320.08058, Florida Statutes. OMB is actively working with F&A to set up operating accounts; there is sufficient reserve funding for these grants.

Background:
In 2017, the Board named Alachua County as the county's Local Arts Agency. In 2018, the Arts Council of Alachua County (ACAC) was established. One of their primary responsibilities is the oversight, administration, and promotion of art tag proceeds, which is the funding source for these grants. These grants were included in their adopted Strategic Plan, which was approved by the Board in mid-2019.
Currently, there is $2,000 budgeted for Mini Grants for Artists/Events (max $500 for each grant award.) The grant award will be made available to the Artist/Event in advance with reporting and receipts due within six months after award.
Currently, there is $7,000 budgeted for Major Grants for Artists (max $3,500 for each grant award.) The grant award will be made available on a reimbursement basis.
