Background:

The State of Florida 911 Board utilized Federal NG-911 Grant Program dollars to support the grant which was received by the County to pay for the GIS services provided by Akimeka. At the time the grant application was reviewed and approved by the 911 Board on 17 June 2020, there was no indication by this office that there were any Federal grant requirements that must be imbedded in the County agreement with Akimeka.

Additional language is now required to be embedded within the agreement between Akimeka and the County. The language is derived from the Federal grant agreement the County signed. In summary, the language requires the professional, Akimeka, to comply with all laws, ordinances, regulations, and building codes. If Akimeka does not comply with the laws, ordinances, etc. then Akimeka is liable for all damages.

On August 25, 2020, Alachua County Board approved the agreement with Akimeka and the agreement with Florida Department of Management Services.
