Prior Board Motions:
August 6, 2018. BOCC/City of Gainesville Joint Commission meeting staff was directed to work with the City on a Zero Waste Plan.

June 25, 2019. BoCC approval of Agreement for Professional Services between Alachua County and Kessler Consulting Inc., for Solid Waste Collection, Recycling, Special Waste and Reduction Programs.

September 22, 2020. BoCC approval of First Amendment to the Agreement for Professional Services between Alachua County and Kessler Consulting Inc., for Solid Waste Collection, Recycling, Special Waste and Reduction Programs.

The original agreement began in FY19 with Kessler Consulting Inc. to develop the Zero Waste Strategic Plan with a not to exceed amount of $124,520 (the budget is split between 148.76.7600.534.31.00, 403.76.7610.534.31.00, and 405.76.7620.534.31.00). A purchase order was cut in FY19 for these services and has been carried forward to the FY21 budget. The current amount remaining on the purchase order is $87,520. Per the interlocal agreement, the expenses will be split 50/50 with the City of Gainesville. The County will invoice the City based on invoices the County receives from the Consultant. Upon execution of this interlocal agreement, the City will be invoiced $61,890 for invoices received.
