Contract #12117 with Howard Technologies, in the amount of $83,497.70, for the purchase, delivery, and installation of audio-visual equipment in the Auditorium and IFAS Buildings at the Agriculture and Equestrian Center. Prices, terms and conditions are per the WSPO-NASPO Cooperative Purchasing Organization, a Government Cooperative Purchasing Alliance, Contract #WNWNC-114

Approve contract #12117 with Howard Technologies, in the amount of $83,497.70, for the purchase, delivery, and installation of audio/visual equipment in the Auditorium and IFAS Buildings at the Agriculture and Equestrian Center, per the prices, terms and conditions of the WSPO-NASPO Cooperative Purchasing Organization, Contract #WNWNC-114, and authorize the Chair to execute same on behalf of the County.

Prior Board Motions:

June 22, 2021, Board approved Contract #10635, Change Order 2 between Alachua County and AJAX Building Corporation for Audio/PA System, domestic water and electrical supply to the Food Vendor Area and new metal siding on the East side of the Covered Arena.

 

October 27, 2020, Board approved the Third Amendment Agreement with AJAX Building Corporation to establish Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for Vertical Infrastructure at the A.C. Ag & Equestrian Center and UF/IFAS Extension Office and Auditorium.

 

September 22, 2020, Board approved the resolution authorizing the issuance of the Capital Improvement Bonds Series 2020C; approve the budget amendment recognizing the unanticipated revenue and appropriating the related expense for the A.C. Ag & Equestrian Center.  The total amount for the A.C. Ag & Equestrian Center renovation and construction project is $20.7 million ($8.2 million funded with cash on hand and $12.5 million funded through a loan).

 

June 23, 2020, Board approved the Special Procurement and Purchase Order 2020-1803, to Union Lasteel, in the amount of $94,546.00, to remove a 50’x175’ Steel Pole Barn from the A.C. Fairgrounds and re-erect at the A.C. Ag & Equestrian Center.   

 

 May 26, 2020, Board approved the A.C. Agriculture & Equestrian Center Site Work-Guaranteed Maximum Price and Corresponding Contract Second Amendment $4,749.723.00, which includes $235,175.00 from the City of Newberry as pass thru funding for Alternate 1 for Fresh and Waste Water Lines.

 

Feb. 11, 2020 - Commissioner Cornell moved option A and B and not building the 2nd bathroom (smaller facility) and work with the Youth Fair on the metal building.

 

On July 9, 2019 the BoCC approved the first amendment to the contract, amending the description of project and pre-construction phase services.

 

On August 8, 2019 the BoCC approved the Construction Management at Risk Contract for Construction of the Alachua County Fairgrounds.

Background:

The new Auditorium and the UF/IFAS Extension Office will be used for both public and private events. The contract will provide the audio visual equipment for the auditorium which will seat 300-400 people and will include a state-of-the-art teaching kitchen for demonstrations and 4-H programs. 

 

This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.3-302(13) of the Alachua County Procurement Code, which permits the County to purchase Supplies or Services through cooperatives, including cooperatives that the county participates in accordance with Article X, section 22.10-201 (cooperative purchasing authorized), providing the vendor extends the same terms and conditions of the contract to the county.
