Prices, terms and conditions are per approved Sole Source.

Prior Board Motions:
November 12, 2019, Board approved the Sole Source and Purchase Order 20-1031 for the purchase of the card reader system software and hardware.

Sufficient budget exists in accounts: 001.19.1912.529.46.00=$50,000, and 011.54.5480.522.46.00=$50,000, in the General Fund and MSBU-Fire Services Fund project #6215401.

Background:
Card readers enhance security and convenience for all occupants and users. Software upgrades were completed in 2020 by WW Gay (Card Access Division). These upgrades provided advanced technologies making the card readers more reliable to the end users.
Back in the late 90s, the County installed card readers in various County buildings providing high levels of security to already existing systems controlled at four locations. These locations include the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, Alachua County Jail, Alachua County Criminal Courthouse and the County's Facilities Office.
