Background:
Kimley Horn & Associates, the County’s consultant, and County staff have been working through input and comments gained throughout the ULDC update process to date and have drafted proposed revisions to the document. The consultant and staff plan to hold a series of workshops for the Board to see the most consequential proposed ULDC updates in different content areas. The tree code revisions are primarily aimed at clarifying usability issues with the Code and increasing protection of larger heritage trees through the use of increased mitigation rates. Additionally, clarification and revisions have been made on how single family lots are regulated versus new development projects. Staff will also be presenting proposed amendments related to landscaping and soil amendments, significant geologic features and boat dock regulation.
