Background:
The Fire Rescue reporting software was purchased in FY06. Since that time, software advancements have surpassed the current vendor’s capabilities. Staff has discovered systemic problems with the software and the current vendor’s ability to keep up with changes. For example, Florida Statute 401.253 - Reporting of Controlled Substance Overdoses and Nemisis 6.0 requirements
On June 11, 2019, the Board accepted the Public Emergency Medical Transportation (PEMT) reimbursement funds of $259,391 and allocated funds to replace the EMS reporting and billing systems. The agreement with ESO will replace the EMS patient care reporting software for $70,707.00 with an annual recurring cost of $66,222.00.
Staff evaluated the ESO product and recommends it based on its functionality. In addition, North Florida Regional Medical Center currently utilizes the ESO patient care reporting system. Shands has expressed an interest in moving to ESO in the future. Being on the same reporting systems will allow for sharing of patient information and outcomes to better evaluate patient care.
