Background:
This purchase is for the replacement of the disaster recovery software and hardware infrastructure for the Alachua County BOCC networks. The upgrade involves migration to a new software and hardware platform that will enable the County to consolidate and expand our ability to perform adequate data backups and restoration, protecting the integrity of data saved in county network systems.

ITS will begin several projects over the coming months. In order to begin purchasing equipment and software associated with the disaster recovery replacement project as well as other projects, it is necessary to reallocate funding to the appropriate line items. As the budget amendment is moving funds greater than $50,000 between account categories, fiscal policy requires Board approval for this transaction.

This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.11(15) of the Alachua County Purchasing Code, which permits the County to purchase supplies, materials, equipment and services under contract with federal, state, or municipal governments or any other governmental agency or pol...
