Background:
The Board approved our agreements with the Gainesville Sports Commission (GSC) at the Sept. 8, 2020 Regular meeting. It was mutual intent of the parties to use the word “will” rather than “may,” however, a previous version was inadvertently attached. The GSC was concerned that the word “may” left it discretionary as to whether the County would place carry-overs on the Board’s agenda for consideration, and the intent of replacing the word “may” with “will” is to make it mandatory that carry-overs be placed on the Board’s agenda for consideration, but the Board retains the discretion to approve or reject carry-overs. The corrected contracts are attached for the Chair’s signature.
