Approve issuance of Purchase Order 2022-1307 and Sole Source to Strykers Sales Corporation, in the amount of $91,955.60, for the replacement of stretcher equipment on five (5) rescue units. Prices, terms and conditions are per approved Sole Source.

There is $137,712.00 available for the replacement of equipment from the FY2021-22 PEMT funding. This purchase for $91,955.60 (001.54.5450.526.64.00 #6195410-FY22) includes a credit for $20,000.00 trade in for existing non-capital equipment. The recurring maintenance for the Power Load systems is handled through a maintenance contract and any future increases as a result of these purchases will be addressed during budget development.

Background:
The department is investing in new equipment which will provide safety for our patients and protect our employees from injury. The Power-Load Power Cot Fastener system is a stretcher self-loading system that dramatically reduces the risks of user and/or equipment failure while loading and unloading stretchers into rescue units. The department has received 5 replacement rescue units and with approval, will have Power-Load Power Cot Fasteners installed in them.
