Approve the issuance of a Purchase Order to Strykers Sales Corporation, in the amount of $115,736.55, for the purchase of five (5) MTS Power Load Stretchers for the Fire Rescue Department. Prices, terms and conditions are per approved Sole Source.

October 11, 2022, Board approved the allocation of funding ($447,000.00) for stretcher upgrade, replacement, and maintenance from the FY2022/23 PEMT funding. Item #22-874.

There is $447,000.00 available for stretcher upgrade, replacement, and maintenance from the FY2022-23 PEMT funding. This purchase is for five (5) power load stretchers $115,736.55 (001.54.5450.526.64.00 #FY23 6195410). The recurring maintenance for the Power Load systems is approximately $500.00 per unit higher than the existing maintenance. The Department will work with the budget office to include in future continuation budgets as additional units are replaced and systems are upgraded.

Background:
The department in investing in new equipment which will provide safety for our patients and protect our employees from injury. The Power-Load Power Cot Fastener system is a stretcher self-loading system that dramatically reduces the risks of user and/or equipment failure while loading and unloading stretchers into rescue units. The department has 5 replacement rescue units on order and with approval, will have Power-Load Power Cot Fasteners installed in them.
