Background:

On October 12, 2021, the Board approved the EMT Training Facility and Medical Equipment and supplies for $1,500,000.00 from American Rescue funds.  Item number 2 is $170,000.00 for the replacement of public safety radios.  Purchase Order 2022-1387 will replace 30 of our front-line 800 mhz radios which are critical to our public safety communications.

 

This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.3-302(12) of the Alachua County Procurement Code, Procurement of Supplies or Services under Contract with federal, state, or municipal governments or any other governmental agency or political subdivision provided the vendor extends the same terms and conditions of the Contract to the County.  The dollar amount of the purchase exceeds the purchasing authority of the Procurement Manager, this Purchase Order is being submitted for Board consideration and approval
