The FY23 Adopted budget includes $137,496.00 (001.54.5410.522.52.00 $68,748.00 and 011.54.5420.522.52.00 ($68,748.00) to replace twenty-five (25) mobile radios. The funds for this purchase need to be transferred to capital (001.54.5410.522.64.00 $67,811.00 and 011.54.5420.522.64.00 $67,811.00).

Background:
The Department of Fire Rescue has mobile radios that are greater than 11 years old and can no longer be supported, repaired or receive software upgrades. The Department submitted a budget request to replace all twenty-five units which was funded in FY23 at $137,496.00. The total purchase is $135,620.50. A budget amendment is necessary to transfer the funds from Operating to Capital.
This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.3-302(13) of the Alachua County Procurement Code, which permits the County to purchase Supplies or Services under Contract with cooperatives, including cooperatives that the County participates in accordance with Article 10, Section 22.10-201 (Cooperative Purchasing Authorized), providing the vendor extends the same terms and conditions of the Contract to the County.
