Recommended Action
1. Request approval of the Chair to sign an Environmental Review for the anticipated CDBG-CV grant for the Budget Inn SRO Conversion Project; and
2. Grant authorization to County Manager and/or designee to sign future site specific environmental related documents related to the Budget Inn Project.

Background:
On 10/26/2021, BoCC granted authorization for Community Support Services, Housing Division to submit a grant application to the Department of Economic Opportunity ("DEO") to renovate the Budget Inn property located at 4401 SW 13th Street, Gainesville from a hotel to a single room occupancy facility to house the homeless. The primary purpose of the grant is to help mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 among the homeless population.
It is requested that the BoCC an administrative environmental study related to the property, specifically termed an Environmental Review for Activity/Project that is Exempt or Categorically Excluded Not Subject to Section 58.5 Pursuant to 24 CFR Part 58.34(a) and 58.35(b). Once approved, the Environmental Review will be submitted to DEO.
