There is $150,000 allocated in the facilities preservation budget account number 001.19.1919.529.46.00 for this expense which is adequate the cover the agreement amount of $136,507.

Background:
The existing boiler at the Sheriff's Office is at the end of its useful life and is causing heating and cooling issues for the building occupants. The new boiler will be more energy efficient than the existing boiler, thus reducing utility costs. The boiler is being purchased and installed under the National Cooperative Pricing Agreement through Brooks Building Solutions which is the most timely and cost effective way to procure the boiler. There is a 90 day lead time on the boiler and should be installed within 60 days of delivery.

This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.11(15) of the Alachua County Purchasing Code, which permits the County to purchase supplies, materials, equipment and services under the terms and conditions established under an existing contract that the vendor has with federal, state, municipal government or any other governmental agency.
