Recommended Action
Receive staff presentation and recommendations regarding the County's pre-application for CDBG-CV grant, receive public comments, provide staff with direction regarding the scope of the grant pre-application, and authorization for the County Manager (or designee) to submit the grant pre-application on behalf of the County.

Background:
Alachua County is considering apply to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity for the Community Development Block Grant - Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) federal funding is available to states to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The County is eligible to apply for up to $4,900,000.00. The activities, dollar amounts and estimated percentage of benefit to low- and moderate-income persons are as follows (includes Architectural and Engineering cost):

The County plans to rehabilitate or demolish and replace at least 36 very low-, low- and moderate- income units in Alachua County that do not meet current building code standards. This project will be to convert and existing hotel for Single Room Occupancy for a Limited Cliental. (Homeless)
Alachua County will not displace anyone as a result of CDBG-funded activities.
